About Treatment
My Approach
I seek to create a warm, collaborative relationship that helps to foster increased self-understanding and self-compassion. I use an integrative, client-centered approach that takes into consideration the impact of early life experiences, culture, and current stressors. In our work together, we will develop a treatment plan that helps you work towards your goals and is aligned with your values. I draw heavily from mindfulness and acceptance-based behavioral therapies (including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, family systems theory, and psychodynamic theory.

What to Expect
Typically, we will spend the first few sessions getting to know one another and deciding whether we would like to work together. I will gather information regarding your goals, relevant history, and any other information that might be helpful in developing a treatment plan. If you have any questions about the treatment plan, the techniques/strategies I use, their possible risks, or my expertise in implementing them, please ask me. I am happy to answer your questions fully.
Individual therapy sessions are usually 45-minutes long and are scheduled weekly. I also offer other session lengths, including 60- and 90-minute sessions. Parenting sessions are typically 60-minutes long. I offer both short-term and longer-term psychotherapy, depending on your goals and the complexity of the presenting problem. Currently, I am only seeing clients for therapy via telehealth. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for telehealth appointments.
Fees and Insurance
Fees: My rates change periodically, so please contact me for current prices. My rates are comparable to other doctoral-level psychologists in the Bay Area. I accept payment by credit card only. You will receive an email 24-hours after the session requesting payment.

Insurance: I do not accept insurance and I am considered an out-of-network provider. Clients who carry insurance should remember that professional services are rendered and charged to the clients and not to the insurance companies. Please contact your insurance provider prior to your first appointment to determine your out-of-network benefits. Additionally, please ask your insurance provider if they cover telehealth sessions, as these are not always covered. Clients can request a statement (superbill), which can then be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Good Faith Estimate: Under the No Surprises Act, you have a right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. The Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of services that are reasonably expected for the expected services to address your mental health care needs. The estimate is based on the information known to me when I do the estimate. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill. If you are billed for $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate (GFE), you have the right to dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call CMS at 1-800-985-3059.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 72 hours (3 days) notice is required for re-scheduling or canceling an appointment. Unless we reach a different agreement, the full fee will be charged for sessions missed without such notification. Most insurance companies do not reimburse for missed sessions.
